DevToolbox

Privacy Policy

How DevToolbox handles data: tool input never leaves your browser. Details on cookies, third-party advertising vendors, and how to opt out of personalized ads.

The short version

DevToolbox is a collection of client-side developer tools. Everything computes in your browser. The text you paste, the files you load, and the values you generate are never transmitted to, stored on, or logged by any server we control. We have no database of user content because no user content ever reaches us.

What we do not collect

We do not store, log, or transmit the content you enter into any tool. We do not require accounts, logins, email addresses, or payment details. We do not build user profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal data — we have none to sell. If you clear your browser tab, the input is gone; nothing persists on our side.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns: which tools get used, roughly where visitors come from, and whether pages are loading acceptably. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device and records a truncated IP address, page URL, referrer, and coarse device information. It does not receive the contents of any tool input field, because that data never leaves the page. You can block this entirely with any standard content blocker or by enabling "Do Not Track" style controls in your browser.

Cookies and how this site uses them

This site uses cookies for two purposes only: aggregate analytics as described above, and advertising as described below. We do not use cookies to identify you personally, and we do not set cookies that follow you for marketing purposes of our own. You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; the tools will continue to function normally without them, since no tool depends on a cookie to run.

Third-party advertising vendors

This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may likewise use cookies or similar technologies to measure ad performance and limit how often you see the same advertisement.

The DoubleClick cookie and personalized ads

Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie, and similar advertising identifiers, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. You may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, where you can turn off ad personalization for your Google account and browser. Doing so does not remove advertising from this site; it means the advertisements you see will be less relevant to your interests rather than absent.

Opting out of third-party ad networks

To opt out of interest-based advertising from many vendors at once, rather than one at a time, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance consumer choice page at aboutads.info/choices or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at networkadvertising.org/choices. These pages let you set opt-out preferences across participating advertising networks. Note that opt-out settings are stored per browser and per device, so you need to repeat the process on each browser you use, and after clearing cookies.

Data retention and international visitors

Because we hold no user content, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on request. Aggregate analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings. Google may process analytics and advertising data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States, under its own published safeguards and privacy policy. Your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA regarding access, deletion, and objection apply to those third-party processors; their respective privacy policies explain how to exercise them.

Changes to this policy and how to reach us

If we change how advertising or analytics work on this site, this page is updated first. If you have a question about anything described here, or believe something on this page is inaccurate, write to hello@devtoolsbox.xyz and we will correct it.
